3rd Annual Historic Senoia Bicycle Tour April 28

The Senoia Area Historical Society (SAHS) is sponsoring a leisurely, 3-hour bicycle tour of historic Senoia for bicyclists of all ages and abilities. The tour is great for people interested in the history of the area, interesting architecture, family lore, the sites of such movies as Fried Green Tomatoes, The War, Andersonville, and Broken Bridges, or who just want some Saturday fun.

The tour takes place on Saturday, April 28th, starting at 9:00 a.m. It will begin and end at the SAHS Headquarters/Museum at 6 Couch Street in Senoia, where riders will have the opportunity to view a brief history of the town and images of some of Senoia’s key citizens and structures from the past, then ride through the Senoia Historic District, making stops in front of homes and churches. Afterward, enjoy light refreshments and have a chance to win a door prize and take a walk through time. Enjoy Senoia’s restaurants, shopping, and the ”art of green” sidewalk art show afterward.

Recommended donations are $15 for adults and $10 for children under 13. All proceeds benefit the Senoia Area Historical Society. Donations are tax deductible. Helmets are required. Due to frequent stops, walkable cycling shoes are recommended. Riders looking for a longer ride may choose a self-supporting 25-, 40-, or 50-mile Senoia Southsider route afterwards.

Spaces are limited and reserved on a first come, first served basis. To register, email Bonnie Bobbitt at bbbobbitt@yahoo.com. Include names of riders, contact information, and any questions you may have.
