The top drivers in each division will receive year-end awards along with the opportunity to race this October during the NASCAR Sprint Cup weekend (date and times to be determined).
The exciting news for Show-N-Shine participants is that all the first place award winners along with the President’s Choice award winners will be invited back in October for a special winner’s showcase along the front straightaway during the pre-race festivities for the Pep Boys Auto 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup race on Sunday, October 26. The entries will be lined up in front of the pre-race stage throughout the pre-race including the introductions of the NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers.
This Friday night (June 20) drag race fans will have the opportunity to win tickets to the Kenny Chesney concert at Turner Field next month. There will also be chances to win an assortment of other prizes, enjoy the extra festivities for the kids, tour the garages checking out the Show-N-Shine vehicles, stand along the launch area and enjoy a night with a family and friends. 4th OF JULY FRIDAY NIGHT DRAGS
Friday, July 4
A special 4th of July sparktacular celebration is being planned for everyone affiliated with Friday Night Drags presented by AC Delco. There will be a race car parade through the city of Hampton, extended practice runs, special awards for the nightly winners and one of the largest fireworks displays in the history of Atlanta Motor Speedway. Everyone is encouraged to make plans to gather with family and friends at the speedway and experience some fun in the sun, drag racing on the eighth mile and fireworks above the speedway. Bring a grill, pack a cooler and plan for a fun time at Friday Night Drags presented by AC Delco.
The 4th of July celebration will begin early in the day with a drag racers parade through the city streets of Hampton (located one mile from the speedway). There is a city celebration planned with vendors, entertainment and kiddie rides. The organizers have invited drag racers to participate in the parade and then stay for a while before heading over to the speedway to begin dialing in for the night of racing. They will be shutting down their activities around 6pm and will be ending their city celebration at Friday Night Drags. Let’s show our support by giving them a great parade of drag racers and Show-N-Shine vehicles!
The pits will open early on the 4th of July, soon after the completion of the Hampton Parade. We will begin drag practice runs earlier and eliminations will begin around 7:30pm. The fireworks display will take place around dusk just prior to the semi-final rounds.
