Savannah Tire Hockey Classic on January 14-16, 2010

The Savannah Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Greater Savannah Sports Council announce that the Savannah Tire Hockey Classic will return to the Savannah Civic Center on January 14-16, 2010. Savannah Tire has signed a three-year deal to become the title sponsor of the Hockey Classic through 2012.

The Savannah Tire Hockey Classic will celebrate its 12th year by expanding to a third night with two new teams, The Citadel and University of South Carolina, which will play in a kickoff rivalry game on Thursday, January 14, 2010. Also returning to the ice will be the University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, University of Florida and Florida State University in the traditional matchups on Friday and Saturday night to battle for the Thrasher Cup. A new event logo has been unveiled to incorporate Savannah Tire as the title sponsor.

“On behalf of Savannah Tire employees and customers, I am honored to announce that the Savannah Hockey Classic is now the Savannah Tire Hockey Classic,” said Trey Cook, Chief Operating Officer of Savannah Tire. “Savannah Tire is thrilled to be involved with the Greater Savannah Sports Council and this premier sporting event and look forward to an exciting 2010 Savannah Tire Hockey Classic.”
